JENI WARDER BMus (Hons) PGCE Cert PTC (Epta UK)

I'm a mum of three children at Egerton School, having lived most of my life within a mile of Keys Piano School! My background is an eclectic mix of music and education. I began to play piano at the age of three, thanks to a very musical family, and achieved grade 8 at age 16. During my school years I also took lessons on the violin, saxophone and percussion. This was followed by further piano study, a degree in music, a PGCE and 11 years of classroom teaching, predominantly in Key Stage 1. Since taking up piano teaching as a full-time job in 2014, I have been developing and refining a curriculum which combines the best of my musical and educational training, which I'm now pleased to be able to develop into Keys Piano School!

My piano journey began aged 5 years old and my love for piano has grown increasingly over the years. Alongside my passion for both playing and teaching the piano, I have an honours degree specialising in Early Years and Disability studies with 15 years experience working in this field. My interest in working with the Early years and children with additional needs has interlaced with my piano teaching journey, inspiring me to develop an engaging and creative approach to learning, which is inclusive and fun for all.

I have played the piano for over 20 years and also enjoy both the violin and even the occasional bit of percussion. Throughout my time as a musician I've had the opportunity to play at a huge variety of events and venues both as a soloist and in ensembles, and have extensive experience with classical repertoire as well as jazz, pop, rock and musical theatre. I started teaching piano in 2008 and was lucky enough to develop this into my full time career in 2016. I enjoy teaching in a friendly and relaxed environment, and over my years experience as a teacher have developed an approach allowing pupils to pursue their strengths as well as challenge them to achieve success.
